In my most humble opinion, there are a few gimmicks that just do not work. Non-starters, I would call them. Weed-wackers, Windows operating systems (all versions), swimming pool vacuum cleaners and hawk-bill pipes. But like Zippo lighters or Harley Davidson motorcycles (also non-starters, I believe) the shape is just so incredibly iconic that one can only go “Ah!”.

As a bonus Ah! features three woods in one, which is just another reason I spent days, if not weeks, carving this pipe. And that is why, when I finished it, I also went Ah!
