I have had this piece of buddha bamboo for a very long time, but I did not use it, because it is cracked. It is not the root of the plant, as is the case with the bamboo root (whangee), that is normally used for pipes. It is the stem, or upper part, of the plant, which is prone to cracking.

I carefully turned a piece of bamboo root and fitted it inside the buddha bamboo, thus creating an airtight and moisture proof piece. It will not drip any pipe oils on your Sunday best. I guarantee it.

Murphy’s law states, “If there is the possibility that anything can go wrong, it will go wrong”. I named this pipe “Murphy” because everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. And yet, I do not think I shall ever create another one like this. As the Talking Heads song proclaims, “Once in a lifetime”.
